About Us

My name is Susan Botelho and I have been the owner and director of Susan’s Dance Studio for fourteen years. I graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1988 and Bridgewater State College in 1992 with a BA in Theatre and Dance.

In 1995, I was working at The Huntington Theatre Company in Boston as the Assistant to the Artistic Director and as a part-time nanny in Brookline. I got a phone call from my very good friend and mentor, Kristine Couto, who wanted to sell me her dance studio. I thought about it, moved back to Fairhaven, and the rest is history!

Since then I’ve been teaching the basic elements of dance to girls and boys of all ages; offering classes in  Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Hip Hop, Tumbling, Ballroom, Belly Dancing, and Zumba!

I believe that everyone of every person of every gender, age, race, size, and shape should dance.

Susan’s Dance Studio is not only a great place for students to participate in a dance program and showcase what they have learned for their friends and family; it’s also a great place for children to build self esteem, interact with other children, and meet new friends.

Overall, I love what I do and I hope that my students grow up and leave Susan’s Dance Studio as confident young adults with life long friends!

Mission Statement

Our mission at Susan’s Dance Studio is to teach children of all ages and adults the fundamentals of dance, poise, and stage performance techniques. Students have fun and enjoy making new friends as they experience the challenges of producing a dance concert.
